If it's learning Java and understanding its Data Structures, this book is an excellent one to rely on! The book to me is well organized in a way to learn the certain designs and positioning of structures used in coding. I think the first thing I enjoy is that it's in color and full of examples. In addition to practice through each section are the exercises that follow and self check section to help aid in knowing the correct answer. The information and chapters covered inside are covering classes, debugging, sorting, sets and maps balanced trees, graphs, and much more! Plus it isn't just about what can be taught and learned throughout the book, but even what else can be understood about Java. The back section has many details that cover Java as an introductory type course, providing much-needed details for those still starting out and unsure where or how to begin using Java.

Not saying this is for beginners with no experience, but it is to make you a better coder and make it simpler to know what is going on with your code and what is happening next. From the math to the variables, it's all covered and explained in enough detail to get a curious coder on the right path with Java and utilize the rest of the book as needed to learn to make it perfect!

I honestly love the details, the color blue makes it easier to read and brings the sections out so much better. Also, the examples and quizzes really are a wonderful thing as well! Perfect for studying, learning on one's own or in a classroom, top notice book to own!

This is a must read for for new developers. It introduces the concepts and various implementations of classic data structures and sorting algorithms which build the foundations for a deeper understanding of the world of software development.

Very rudimentary. It shows basic uses of some data structures with Java, but not much more than that. Personally, I'd read a book on Java and one on data structures and complexity separately.
